In the next few weeks, many library systems and staff across the country will celebrate the valuable contributions that their local library friends' organization make to their library.
Beginning the week of October 17th, there will be a number of national, regional and local events planned across the nation in celebration of library friend organizations and as a kickoff for the American Library Associations "Friends' of Libraries" week.
The American Library Association released an announcement about the week-long celebration in the September edition of American Libraries.
In other library-related news, SPL will be launching an online book group beginning next month called Book Chat.
