The Friends of The Seattle Public Library welcomes donations! Most of the books and items that you donate are sold at our various book sales throughout the year. Proceeds from the sales help support programs at The Seattle Public Library.
We happily welcome your donations of the following:
- Hardback & paperback books
- Art prints & posters
- Audio books
- DVDs
- CDs
- Sheet Music
- Computer software
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept:
- Reader's Digest condensed books
- Business books published more than 10 years ago
- Computer books published more than 10 years ago
- Encyclopedias published more than 10 years ago
- Magazines
- Records/LPs
- Music cassettes
- VHS
- Romance paperbacks
TO MAKE A DONATION
Donations may be dropped off on Tuesdays, from 3-7pm, Thursdays from 9am-3pm and on Saturdays from 10am-3pm. We are located at 2025 9th Ave., Seattle, WA 98121, on the corner of 9th & Lenora. Our office is located on the second floor of the building, above the Washington Talking Book & Braille Library. If you plan on bringing a donation, please call ahead for directions and parking information. Our phone number is 206-682-7567. You may also drop off up to three boxes of books at your neighborhood branch of The Seattle Public Library.
Please note: We are unable to pick up donations at this time.All donations are tax-deductible! The Friends of the Seattle Public Library is a 501(c)3, nonprofit organization. We are more than happy to issue you a receipt for your donation.
